Located at the intersection of Chang’an and Wangfujing Street in one of the most established luxury malls in Beijing, the renovation works anySCALE was tasked with for the interior of the mall came with a few challenges. Being a bustling, popular place for wealthy shoppers the area marked for renovation, around 3,000 square meters, was kept open throughout the process. The renovations ranged in a T-shape, covering part of the lower and upper ground floor at the east end of the mall. The brief was to update the interior shop windows and surrounding facades, floors and ceiling, as well as update the lighting.
The starting point for the design by the anySCALE team was to treat the interior façade of the mall as a female face, applying a little make-up to freshen the facade. The face of a person is the most important reference point for two people when they first meet, and the eyes the first point of contact. For a mall, the most important thing are the shops within, and the shop windows, in this case, represent the eyes on the face of the mall. The idea was to use soft, natural colors for the “make-up” of the eyes, using warm tones which carried a touch of sophistication and glamour associated with the female shoppers that frequent the mall.
The shop window facades are covered in rich champagne colors combined with sanded glass to create a luxurious, satin look and feel. This back-painted glass treatment removes the cold feeling usually associated with this material and instead transforms the space with a warm and glamorous touch. Artificial stone of the floor is laid in two shades of champagne, running along the shop fronts in sharp lines, their color diminishing in intensity the further away they are from the facades. The rest of the floor is tiled in a comfortable off white. An echoing outline is visible in the new ceiling, emphasized by subtle hidden strip lighting which gives off an even illumination to the entire space. The signage for each shop was treated in the same way as the rest of the design. Using the same colored glass and finish the store front labels were etched into the back-painted glass so that when the sign is illuminated from behind the lettering stands out in a sharp white contrast to the deep tones of caramel. When the light is switched off, the label can not be seen.



这个项目位于寸土寸金的北京王府井东方广场商场五区,我们要做的,是给清洁干净的脸(拆空了的公共区域)化妆,已达到彰显眼睛(店铺)的目的。最终anySCALE定出了整个项目的实施方法, 过程和女人的化妆步骤如出一辙。
首先,粉底,大面积的淡色石材地面和平顶天花 。
其次,定妆, 在墙角的天花错层空间中,我们藏进去洗墙灯, 均匀洗亮整个平顶天花, 营造出整个空间柔和的主照明。
接着,眼线,我们选取了超白玻璃,在玻璃表面做整面磨砂,在玻璃的背面喷上深驼色油漆,用这种材料来建造店铺橱窗的立面,拉开与浅色天地的景深对比 。
继续,眼影,采用比磨砂玻璃的深驼色浅两个色号的同色系石材,用折线递进的手法在接近店铺的地面形成一个凌厉过渡的效果 。
然后,睫毛,店铺招牌的处理,我们在磨砂玻璃的背面把驼色油漆按照LOGO的轮廓精确洗掉, 让LOGO具备磨砂透光的效果,然后藏进去一个灯箱,明暗效果如同长长的睫毛微微颤动 。
最后,画眉, 两层之间的挑空区域建造环形腰带,灯光亮起,玉带悬浮。
至于接下来的腮红与唇彩,就由络绎不绝、你来我往的红男绿女倾情演绎了……
