This new 3Q is located within Fuxing Plaza (FXP), a bustling retail space in downtown Shanghai. It is the latest 3Q addition in FXP, which, along with its location, presented a design challenge to the anySCALE team; how to be part of the 3Q brand and still unique in its design. An atrium overlooking the mall’s public spaces occupies the central space. Full-height, orange-tinted glass was therefore installed in certain areas to unify the 3Q theme, visible from the ground floor. While the previous 3Qs in FXP were designed with a strong colour range with high contrasts, building E’s 3Q design went for a milder approach with a focus on warm colours. As a corner building the natural light is plentiful and the greenery from the outside trees is pulled into the spaces, creating a natural compliment to the orange and yellow tones. This 3Q also introduced a new type of built-in furniture; long “public space” working tables overlooking the atrium.
