Located in Suzhou, in close proximity to Taihu Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in China, the Max Tech office brings together technology, identity, and place within a unified architectural narrative. Designed for a forward-looking pharmaceutical company, the project translates innovation into space while remaining grounded in its natural context and the entrepreneurial vision of its founder.
The concept is driven by a deliberate dialogue between progress and landscape. Inspired by the fluid silhouettes and tranquil blue tones of Taihu Lake, the design introduces soft geometries and a water-based palette that runs throughout the building. These elements are paired with precise architectural lines and metallic finishes, expressing technological ambition while maintaining a strong sense of place.
The ground floor establishes the brand experience through a carefully choreographed sequence of arrival, display, and discovery. A superimposed metal mesh structure defines the space, balancing industrial clarity with warmth through wood, soft textures, and layered blue tones. A mezzanine display area, discreetly integrated behind the mesh, adds depth and a sense of exploration.
As the project unfolds vertically, each floor develops its own spatial character. The research lab is defined by precision, transparency, and control, forming the technical core of the building. Above, open and flexible workspaces introduce a more dynamic and youthful atmosphere, with vibrant colors supporting collaboration and adaptability. The upper levels transition into more refined and focused environments, culminating in executive spaces that combine clarity, comfort, and discretion while maintaining a visual connection to the surrounding landscape.
A rooftop terrace completes the spatial sequence, offering a simple open-air extension for informal gatherings and moments of pause.
